Abdul Kamara AKA "Chief" Responds to Alpha Saidu Bangura's "Is the President Serious About Battling Corruption." The New People Editorial Team does not edit opinion pieces from readers.

USA: MARYLAND - ABDUL KAMARA "CHIEF": Eight months ago, the electorate of Sierra Leone gave Ernest Koroma the leader of the APC the mandate to rule Sierra Leone. The reasons were because the then ruling SLPP government under the auspices of President Tejan Kabbah-Tiger was ineptitude, corrupt and could not provide the basic necessities for which he was elected in 2002.
Before I remind Saidu Bangura, of what Sierra Leone used to be when his party was in power, let me take this opportunity to respectfully respond to his cheap shot at Ernest Koroma. Mr. Bangura, mentioned that the president is “claiming to run a corrupt free government, and when he knows that his team has a lot of corrupt people” that is a fallacy and it’s up to the ACC to prove your allegations.
Second, Hon. Kemoh Sesay and Alpha Kanu whom he cited as racketeer and mafia have never been convicted of any wrong doing. Sierra Leone is a democratic country where the rule of law is respected, and the judiciary system is functioning properly. Who are you to judge these people? .
Further, Mr. Bangura, mentioned that it is very “difficult to divorce the APC and CORRUPTION because they have been bed-fellows for a long time” Mr. Bangura, it’s sad this is your opinion and you are entitle to it, but let me ask, can you name me one of your SLPP minister who is clean. Did you know that Tejan Kabbah-Tiger was barred from holding any government position in Sierra Leone? And this was the man your party nominated as the flag bearer in 1998 and 2002.. Did you ever asked him to resign because of his criminal past?
Let play the game fairly. I want you to know that this is a new APC under the leadership of Ernest Koroma , there is going to be transparency, accountability and good governance. Now let me take this opportunity to refresh you SHEIK SAIDU BANGURA( Cross road police) an avid supporter of the SLPP of how Sierra Leone was prior to Ernest Koroma ascendancy to power Freetown was one of the filthiest city in the world , besides Sierra Leone was consistently at the bottom of the UNDP human index report, also people of Sierra Leone have been living under the cloud of darkness for over five years , no good roads, corruption was the order of the day and the list goes on. Now under Ernest Koroma and the new APC, in less than one year the electricity is flowing, road construction is back on track. Mr. Bangura, with all due respect the devil must be given his due.
Ernest Koroma deserve some praise for doing in less than one year what your SLPP party could not do in ten years. What a shame.
