The desperation of President Ernest Bai Koroma’s discredited media stooges in Sierra Leone and abroad has stretched to the point of lying against the US government and US ambassador about the visa status of opposition flag bearer, Julius Bio, as a way of diverting international attention away from the catalogue lies and ICC indictable offences being committed by the president himself ahead of this year’s November polls. Here is the US Ambassador’s position on Julius Bio’s travel status to the US stated in black and white as reported in the Salone Times newspaper:

Why vote in the Bio/Sesay-led SLPP in 2012

Written by Bitter - Truth

Life is a survival game, yet it does not always have to be solely about survival. There are times when the processes of survival in life must be interceded with acceptable principles. Here, we do not mean principles that stacks the odds of success in life to the corrupt few, but principles that create an adequate enabling environment for the survival of the masses. For far too long now, life survival game in Sierra Leone has overwhelmingly favored the corrupt few at an untold expense of the masses. In fact, realizing life in Sierra Leone is a persistent nightmare for over 90% of the population.

Our President is a man who delights in creating and promulgating sham statements with impunity.  In reflecting on the past elections of 2007, we must not forget that this President wrote a letter to the international community accusing SLPP of having the intention to rig the election. He is now contending that his letter was quite unlike that of our flag bearer saying that it was based on facts. Where are the facts?

This show of blatant lying distinguishes the social club (APC) from a civilized and democratic party like SLPP.

Politics should be fun. Politics is meant to bring people together as a nation. Politics is the highest human social structure for building nations. All too perpetually, however, politics in Africa (and especially in Sierra Leone) destroys both people and nations. This brings to mind the important question of why African politics always looks in a direction different from that in other continents across the globe. This crucial question of our times requires an unprecedented soul-searching of and by African leaders and people to address with the highest degree of honesty and tolerance.

My God, the recent defeat in Fourah Bay’s Ward 369 bye election has enraged the governing party so much so that they have decided to raise their onslaught against the opposition. For this reason the governing party held an emergency meeting immediately after this defeat to strategize ways to brutalize the opposition.  From this moment on, the APC has made up scores of accusations against our supporters to deter them from participating in the next general election. Meanwhile, our accused and arrested supporters continue to suffer at the hands of our callous President who pretends to be unaware of their plight.

The letter below was sent by Ernest Koroma to the US Ambassador and the international media raising all sorts of false alarm in the run up to the 2007 elections. The SLPP government never once directed the Sierra Leone Police to invite him for questioning or prove his allegations. Does Ernest Koroma really believe in Democracy? His actions over the past four years is proof that he wants to takes us back to the dictatorial and corrupt days of the APC and tear down all the democratic gains we've made as a country under the SLPP.

ALL PEOPLES CONGRESS, (APC) MOTTO: ACTION, PROGRESS, COMMITMENT

His Excellency, The America Ambassador, Hill Station, Freetown.

Your Excellency,

Let me take this opportunity to thank you, on my personal behalf, on behalf of the All Peoples Congress (APC) Party, and in the name of all Sierra Leoneans, for the steadfast interest of your country/organization for Sierra Leone.

And the Alarmist Goes…”Satanic and sadistic”…Oops! Sierra Leone newspapers have been awash in recent days with news of reactions of the ruling Government to a Press Statement issued by the Presidential Candidate of the opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) Brig. Rtd. Julius Maada Bio; in which he alleges that the ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) is embarking on unconventional tactics in order to unfairly advantage itself towards the 2012 general and presidential elections. I cannot comment on the veracity of the allegations contained therein, given that yours truly is not privy to the facts available to Mr. Bio and his SLPP. But they say, “One knows his/her neighbor, more than God”.

We heard yesterday that our flag bearer was invited to the CID in relation to his letter of objection concerning the re-arming and deployment of ex-combatants to SLPP strongholds. Is this actually the reason why he had been invited? This shows how undemocratic this APC regime is. Is APC still of the belief that we are in the 70s and 80s? They need to check their cognitive abilities for re-assessment as the SLPP will never succumb to their indiscipline ethics.

The SLPP is looking good for the 2012 elections as far as the number of Biometric registrations tallied so far given the strong showing in their strongholds. Some registration centers are not contactable through telecommunication as it takes at least two days for final provisional registration figures to reach the field coordination and operations unit. There are 17 centers outstanding from some districts to get the 100% registration total for the 1st phase, which started from 23rd January 2012- 6th Feruary 2012

Evidences gathered from the ongoing voter registration in Bo and Kenema so far reveal a diabolical plan by the violence tainted regime of President Ernest Bai Koroma to use ex-service men and ex-combatants to intimidate voters residing in key opposition stronghold towns and cities on the day of the polls in November this year.
